Fashion designer Sofia Alexander can righteously be called “an upcoming star”. She has been around the fashion design industry for years, since 1996, with a distinguished career.
After graduating with a B.A from the University of Westminster in London with Honors, Cyprus-born Sofia took part in many fashion design competitions and attained very good positions, such as the 1998 UNESCO World Fashion Competition Expo in Lisbon that won her a place in the top 20 young designers worldwide.
Sofia Alexander has been chosen twice to participate at the CPD fashion fair in Düsseldorf-Germany; furthermore one of her outfits has been worn by a leading Greek singer as part of her advertising campaign for her new single. Sofia was one of three who were handpicked out of 300 applicants who requested participation in the 2007 London Fashion week. Harper’s Bazaar of Cyprus simply calls her “Cyprus’ Ambassador to London Fashion Week”. (July 2008). Besides the London Fashion Week, she participated at the Harrogate Woman’s Wear in July 2000 and other various fashion shows.
Sofia’s collection was featured on Fashion T.V in January of 2008 as part of a fashion show/competition with Divinity Model Agency of London that took place in London and the collaboration of Fashion T.V. Sofia Alexander not only possesses real talent but also the experience, therefore, can justly be named as one of Cyprus’s most promising designers.
