Kika Ioannidou

kikaioannidiouShe studied fashion design at Manchester University. She worked in England for four years at Emanuel’s Haute Couture – the designers of Princess Diana’s wedding gown. That was followed by stints as head designer at two well known establishments, V & G Garments and Andrew Baron. On her return to Cyprus in 1985, she opened her own fashion house named Kika Collection and presented her first self-titled collection.

In 1992 she created the Minima by Kika imprint, with the aim of making her designs more widely accessible. She was the fashion coordinator for the Cyprus team at the Eurovision Song Contest on five different occasions. She designed costumes for the musical Frankenstein by Stavros Sideras, as well as many other shows. She has presented her designs overseas.

She has been a member of the Fashion Institute and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and continues to be a consultant to many companies in Cyprus and abroad. She was also voted Chairperson of the Cyprus Fashion Designers’ Association. She was awarded by Madame Figaro’s readers as Fashion Designer of the year 2007.
